Hi there, I am Kimmy Dao.
I am a Montreal-based photographer with a deep-rooted passion for capturing the essence of the world around me. My journey into photography began in my early teenage years, where I found beauty in the seemingly mundane - from the intricate designs on gum packages to the play of light on an aesthetically pleasing water bottle. It was during these moments that I realized the power of photography to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, I took a leap of faith and embraced photography as more than just a hobby; it became my profession, my calling. Each click of the shutter allows me to freeze fleeting moments in time, preserving memories that resonate with emotion and authenticity.
Beyond my lens, I am also a registered nurse, deeply committed to caring for others. My love for the culinary arts intertwines seamlessly with my passion for photography, as both allow me to explore the beauty of creation - whether it's capturing the vibrant colors and textures of a dish or the delicate interplay of flavors. Just as I find joy in nourishing the body and soul through nursing and cooking, I find fulfillment in nourishing the spirit through the art of photography. Each aspect of my life informs and enriches the other, shaping me into the multifaceted artist and caregiver that I am today.
